Toddler Care

Caregivers work with parents to ensure that arrivals and departures are pleasant and reassuring for children. These times allow children to extend the bonds of trust they have with their parents to the caregivers in the program.

Throughout the daily routine, caregivers are attentive and offer support to children as the children play and explore their environment at their own pace. Caregivers, engage in communication with the children, imitate children's actions, support children's play with other children, and assist children in problem solving.

Our daily outside time (weather permitting) allows toddlers to explore the outdoor world. Toddlers will use the open area outside as well as on the playground.

In small groups of toddlers, caregivers provide materials for children to explore in a familiar activity. In these group times children remain in close contact with the caregiver while having a shared experience with other children. Although the adults introduce the activities, children remain free to make choices about materials and how to use them. Children will enjoy hearing songs and stories throughout the day. To encourage language development, we introduce sign language to waddlers and continue with toddlers. Toddlers are developing their creative skills and we encourage the children to explore art materials to make special creations.

We participate in the federally funded CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) which provides nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children.
